What is there to do?
The Barnes Arena has many entertainment features. It consists of a Barn whose second floor has been renovated into a large recreation room. It has a bar, a stage for the band, plenty of seating, and games. There is ping pong, pool, air hockey, and darts. Outside, there are two horseshoe pits, volleyball sandpit, and a fire ring for bonfires. Most people bring more games to play as well. Good tunes are always playing. And there's always interesting people to meet.

What if there's bad weather
The Bash is held rain or shine. One reason we like the Barnes Arena is that it can keep even the largest group dry in a storm.

Where should I stay?
We encourage those people making a late night with us to camp right on the party grounds. There's lots of space for you to pitch your tent, camper, lean-to, etc. It is by far the cheapest and safest way to enjoy the party. There are also several nearby hotels. Check out the links we have provided to book your rooms.

Can I bring somebody with?
Sure, the more the merrier. The Bash is not a public event, however. It starts out with an invitation to a select few. Invitees are more than welcome to bring any guests you like (heck, you can even bring guests you don't like)..

How much does this cost me?
The Birthday Bash has been a donation-based party from the start and remains so to this day. We do appreciate whatever donations people may make to defray the costs.

Can I bring something to eat/drink?
Why of course you can! We'll supply the burgers, brats, some side dishes, beers and sodas. We can always use more munchies, side dishes and sweet treats to keep things moving. And if you are looking for beverages other than beers and soda, you'll want to bring some of that for yourself.

Should I bring anything else?
There's always room for more games at the Bash. So bring your frisbees, dice, cards, bocci balls, croquet sets, and all other forms of leisurely diversions.

What time do I really need to show up?
That really depends on what you're in for. You can come early and enjoy the pre-Bash activities. Heck, we're rolling already on Friday Night. You can stop by later on Saturday to grab some delicious grub and beverages. It's up to you. Of course we'd like to you to come and stay with us - make a day (and night) out of it. To give you an idea of what's going on during those few days, here's our typical schedule:

Friday

6 p.m. - Frank and Scott begin to get the facilities ready. Some early arrivals show.
10 p.m. - Pre-Bash festivities around the bonfire.

Saturday

8 a.m. - Pickup and setup of rented equipment and kegs begins.
Noon - Kegs get tapped and excitement rises.
1 p.m. - Band setups, sound checks and a little rehearsing by the 'Doilies.
2 p.m. - More early arrivals show up and pitch camp.

5 p.m. - Most folks start to chow down pretty good.
6 p.m. - The Soiled Doilies play their first set.
9 p.m. - The Soiled Doilies play their second set.
10 p.m. - The wheels start to get a little warm.
Midnight - The wheels come off.

Do you [Frank and Scott] need any help?
That's right neighborly of you to ask! We generally have things taken care of on our lonesomes, but if you care to lend a hand, you're more than welcome. Saturday morning is a time when we can use lots of help (see the schedule above). Beyond that, there's always room for extra Grillmeisters during the Brat Fry.

Is this something I can bring my kids to?
Children are welcome at the Bash. Most folks who bring children come early, and leave a bit earlier in the evening. 'Round 7p.m., things do start to get a little more adult, especially when the 'Doilies are on the stage. You may wish to plan accordingly.
